CHICAGO – Spooky Dookie, Chicago’s premiere two-woman female sketch duo, presents a dazzling, glitz n’ glamour dive into sketch comedy. Think: top hats, tuxes, and laughing ’til your teeth pop. You heard us! That’s what happened in the olden days! Framed by an old Hollywood aesthetic, “Spooky Dookie: Razzle Dazzle” satirizes entertainment across decades-YouTube fame, inspirational book deals, reality TV, and more. It’s goofy, dark, smart, silly, and a couple of other paradoxical things that will impress you.
Since making their debut at Chicago SketchFest, Spooky Dookie has performed a run of shows at The Second City Training Center, won Stage 773’s Laugh Battle, and were most recently accepted to perform at Hell Yes Fest in New Orleans. Claire and Maureen have both contributed award-winning sketches to The Second City’s Mary Scruggs Works by Women Festival. “Spooky Dookie: Razzle Dazzle” is directed by Andel Sudik of The Second City. Here’s the point: it’s good. See the show.
“Spooky Dookie: Razzle Dazzle” premieres in the Small Theatre at 8:00 PM October 11, and will continue to run on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM through November 8. Tickets are $8.
