Broadway in Chicago celebrates July 4 with 1776 half-price tickets through the League of Chicago Theatres’ Hot Tix program

June 27, 2018

CHICAGO — Broadway In Chicago is delighted to announce that the pre-Broadway engagement of THE CHER SHOW, the Chicago premiere of HEARTBREAK HOTEL, prequel to Million Dollar Quartet, WAITRESS and THE COLOR PURPLE will make 1776 half-price tickets available through the League of Chicago Theatres’ Hot Tix program through July 8, 2018.

Tickets will be available to select performances in July for purchase through Hot Tix booth locations (72 E. Randolph St., 108 N. State St., or 163 E. Pearson St.) or at www.HotTix.org while supplies last.  Broadway In Chicago has developed this offer in conjunction with the League of Chicago Theatres which provides services and support to over 250 Chicagoland theatres. Tickets are limited and available on a first-come first-served basis.

THE CHER SHOW

Oriental Theatre, 24 W. Randolph

Superstars come and go. Cher is forever. For six straight decades, only one unstoppable force has flat-out dominated popular culture — breaking down barriers, pushing boundaries, and letting nothing and no one stand in her way.

THE CHER SHOW is her story, and it’s packed with so much Cher that it takes three women to play her: The kid starting out, the glam pop star and the icon. THE CHER SHOW is 35 smash hits, six decades of stardom, two rock-star husbands, a Grammy, an Oscar, an Emmy, and enough Bob Mackie gowns to cause a sequins shortage in Chicago, all in one unabashedly fabulous new musical. Let’s do this, bitches!

HEARTBREAK HOTEL
Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place, 175 E. Chestnut

HEARTBREAK HOTEL, the prequel to the record-setting Chicago favorite Million Dollar Quartet, follows the tender story of Elvis Presley in the early years of his career as he and Sam Phillips create the music that will forever change their lives. As Elvis’s career skyrockets, both lifting and shattering the lives of those he loves, a secret love story is revealed, a betrayal is discovered, and “Colonel” Tom Parker changes the course of history, all in just 18 short months.

This brand new musical features hit songs from the King himself as well as the legends who influenced his iconic music, with chart-toppers including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “That’s All Right,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” and, of course, “Heartbreak Hotel.” This is where the story begins… “take a walk down lonely street.”

This offer is valid on the following performances:

Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph

Inspired by Adrienne Shelly’s beloved film, WAITRESS tells the story of Jenna – a waitress and expert pie maker, Jenna dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes for happiness. But Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life.
