Please join the Chicago Artists Chorale on the evening of May 16 for in other words, the final choral program of their third season. The concert will feature innovative and daring repertoire that has one thing in common:
There are no lyrics.
The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the
Walter Payton College Prep Recital Hall, at 1034 N. Wells in Chicago.
In an evening of music by contemporary composers including Greg Jasperse, Bobby McFerrin, Kerry Marsh, and Oscar Escalada, the Chicago Artists Chorale will explore the powerful versatility of the human voice.
Covering a wide range of styles and genres, in other words is devoted to the idea that music communicates something even when language is absent. The sounds themselves will not inherently carry any meaning. It is up to you, the audience, to interpret and find meaning in the song—or to choose not to.
The Chorale will be accompanied by
Vijay Tellis-Nayak on piano and Jed Feder on percussion.
Walter Payton College Prep is located in the Old Town neighborhood. Tickets may be purchased online at cac6.brownpapertickets.com, for $25 ($15 for student/industry/child). Ticket prices go up $5 at the door. For more information, please visit www.ChicagoArtistsChorale.org or email us at [email protected]
