A 44-season stage veteran, Mr. Robinson has appeared in numerous musical theatre roles during the course of his acting career including such roles as: El Gallo in ‘The Fantasticks,’ Colonel Pickering in ‘My Fair Lady,’ Mordred in ‘Camelot,’ Ali Hakim in ‘Oklahoma!,’ The King of Siam in ‘The King and I,’ Captain Hook in ‘Peter Pan,’ Ernst Ludwig in ‘Cabaret,’ The First Gangster in ‘Kiss Me, Kate, ( all performed under the guidance of diligent Producing Director Jill Stover and gifted Artistic Director Dr. Jeffrey P. Certainly no stranger to playing musical roles in works adapted from the literary classics of CHARLES DICKENS, Darryl Maximilian Robinson received the 1981 FORT WAYNE NEWS-SENTINEL REVIEWER’S RECOGNITION AWARD as Outstanding Thespian of the Season for his well-received performance as Fagin in The Enchanted Hills Playhouse of Syracuse, Indiana revival of Lionel Bart’s ‘OLIVER!’ ( the Tony and Oscar-winning musical version of ‘Oliver Twist’ ) and delighted audiences in a trio of parts including A Caroler, The Poultry Man, and most notably, The Ghost of Christmas Present ( opposite the late and wonderful west coast stage character actor and comedian Mario Di Gregorio as Ebenezer Scrooge ) when he appeared in skilled Playwright / Co-Producer Brenda Dietlein’s 2010 musical adaptation of ‘A Christmas Carol’ at THE GLENDALE CENTRE THEATRE ( in-the-round ) of Glendale, CA.
