Fox Valley Repertory continues its 2014 series with Neil Simon’s family comedy, Brighton Beach Memoirs. This coming-of-age memoir, directed by Ronan Marra, will take place in St. Charles at the Pheasant Run Resort Mainstage, Aug. 28 – Oct. 19.
An audience and critical favorite since it premiered in 1983, Brighton was originally directed by Gene Saks and featured Matthew Broderick on stage. It was adapted into a film in 1986 starring Jonathan Silverman and Blythe Danner. Brighton Beach Memoirs was the winner of the New York Drama Critics award for Best Play of 1983, and was the first of a trilogy of semi-autobiographical plays written by Neil Simon.
The local cast features: Ariel Begley, Stephanie Chavara, Brigitte Ditmars, Joseph Galizia, Ryan Stajmiger, Joseph Stearns and Elizabeth Stenholt.
Tickets are $32 on Fridays and limited Thursday performances and $42 on Saturdays and Sundays. Dinner packages, group discounts and overnight rates are also available.
