As with many industries, the theatre community has been heavily impacted by recent events. This Thursday, the Beautiful City Project, an organization which leverages musical theatre to give back to the community, will be hosting a live stream event, featuring a top-notch roster of stars of the Chicago stage, including American Idol’s Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young.
Be sure to donate to event partner, Season of Concern, an organization committed to supporting artists and industry personnel impacted by health-related emergencies.
Created nearly 30 years ago by Chicago theater artists to provide care for those in the theater community afflicted with AIDS-related illnesses, Season of Concern has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars from generous artists and theater patrons to benefit hundreds of people in the entertainment industry-actors, directors, designers, technicians, playwrights-who are experiencing health-related emergencies and medical issues.
Funding provided by Season of Concern goes directly to the Chicago office of The Actors Fund Chicago, which oversees the entertainment community in Chicago and throughout the Midwest.
Season of Concern does this and so much more and on Thursday we will be live-streaming to raise money for this amazing organization.
