Porchlight announces new home at Ruth Page beginning in fall 2017

February 2, 2017

Porchlight Music Theatre is proud to announce that its 2017-2018 season will be performed at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts at 1016 N. Dearborn Ave. Located just steps from the Michigan Avenue “Magnificent Mile”, the historic Ruth Page Center will be Porchlight’s new home beginning this fall. Both the mainstage and Porchlight Revisits series will be presented at the Center, as well as some education programming.

Events celebrating this new move will coincide with the launch in fall 2017 of Porchlight Music Theatre’s 23rd season, to be announced.

Why is Porchlight Moving to Ruth Page?

Over the last few years, Porchlight has enjoyed an increase in subscribers and single ticket buyers as we have increased the volume and scope of our programming. The Ruth Page Center gives us a larger capacity venue that still retains the intimate approach for which our musical productions are known. This is an important step in our growth as we work to expand our audience and supporter base for future seasons. Being an Artist In-Residence at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts offers Porchlight significant opportunities for our production capabilities, as well the opportunity to manage our own box office services and concession/merchandise sales and these benefits for our patrons:

  • Comfortable, traditional style theatre seating
  • Opportunity to select specific seats – no more general admission
  • Enhanced box office services through Porchlight
  • More nearby dining options
  • More paid public parking options

Better accessibility by public transportation
