Arlington Heights, IL – Metropolis presents the colorful decade revue Beehive: The 60’s Musical July 12 – August 25, 2018.
A rockin’ celebration following six women as they honor the legendary music and performers of the 60’s. Filled with classic hits from iconic singers including Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, The Shirelles, Diana Ross, Lesley Gore, Connie Francis, The Supremes and more. This colorful era is lovingly recreated with songs like “It’s My Party,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “One Fine Day,” “Where The Boys Are,” “My Boyfriend’s Back” and more timeless favorites. Let loose and enjoy the music of this powerful decade that inspired these dynamic female vocalists. Rated PG.
Preview performances of Beehive: The 60’s Musical at Metropolis are July 12-15, 2018. Regular run performances are July 19 – August 25, 2018. Specific dates and times are listed below. Metropolis’ cast for Beehive: The 60’s Musical includes Anastasia Arnold (Alison), Halle Bins (Laura), Christie Burgess (Pattie), Caitlin Dobbins (Gina), Bre Jacobs (Jasmine), and Jayla Williams-Craig (Wanda). Understudies include Gina Martin and Emily Senkowsky.
Beehive: The 60’s Musical is created by Larry Gallagher. Directed and Choreographed by Dina DiCostanza, Music Directed by Ken McMullen, Assistant Choreographed by Allyssa O’Donnell. Designers are Jake Boshears (Sound Designer), Rachel Parent (Costume Designer), Kerry Strahm (Scenic Designer/Technical Director), and Matthew Winstead (Lighting Designer). Metropolis Executive/Artistic Director is Joe Keefe. Metropolis Production Manager is William A. Franz, Assistant Production Manager is Sara Elizabeth Buto.
Beehive: The 60’s Musical is the final show of the 2017-2018 Main Stage Subscription Series at Metropolis, bringing first class entertainment to the northwest suburbs. The 2018-2019 Subscription Series at Metropolis will include 9-Time Tony Award-winning dance musical A Chorus Line (September 20 – November 3, 2018), Agatha Christie’s long-running murder mystery The Mousetrap (January 31 – March 16, 2019), Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning musical farce A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (May 16 – June 29, 2019), and biographical rock & roll musical Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story (July 18 – August 24, 2019).
