Metropolis concludes its 15th Anniversary Season with the tribute musical Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash July 21 – August 28, 2016.
Gritty and authentic, few voices have personified America like the great Johnny Cash. Ring of Fire celebrates the music of The Man in Black throughout his legendary career, featuring over 30 songs including I’ve Been Everywhere, A Boy Named Sue, Folsom Prison Blues, I Walk the Line and many more. Decades of incredible songs performed by a multi-talented ensemble sweep us through the musical journey of Johnny’s life, including Gospel, Folk, Country and Rock along with incredible duets with his soul mate, June Carter. See Johnny Cash’s musical legacy come to life in this rollicking, foot-stomping production of Ring of Fire.
Director Joe Keefe of Glencoe is working with an extraordinarily talented cast, including local cast members Jenna Payne of Des Plaines and Sari Greenburg and Abby Vombrack, both of Buffalo Grove.
