Arlington Heights, IL– Students of Metropolis School of the Performing Arts (SOPA) bring Roald Dahl’s classic novel James and the Giant Peach to life at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre November 8-10, 2018.
An adventurous and witty musical about courage and self-discovery. James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree and discovers a magic potion. This potion grows a tremendous peach that launches James on a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way. Recommended for grades 3-8.
Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach JR. will run November 8 and November 9 at 10 A.M. and 6 P.M. and November 10 at 1 P.M. Tickets are $14 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under, and can be purchased online at MetropolisArts.com or by visiting or calling the Box Office at 847.577.2121.

Brown, Choreographed by Allyssa O’Donnell. Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach JR. is a part of the School of the Performing Arts Series at Metropolis, which showcases students’ work with performances on the Metropolis stage.
