Chicago – What happens when an interracial husband and wife decide to write a comedy show together? Matrimonial humor ensues! On Tuesday June 6th and 13th at 8:30 pm in Judy’s Beat Lounge at the Second City Training Center, join Flanders! for two evenings of hilarity, music and dance guaranteed to make even your Mother-In-Law smile. The show examines the secret joys of marriage, the undiscovered mysteries of science and the terrible ravages of the inevitable Robot Civil War.
Comedians Josh and Sheri Flanders met a decade ago through the Chicago Reader’s personal ads and begin to study comedy together. They are now both graduates of the Second City Conservatory, the Second City Music Program, and the iO Improv and Music Programs. They perform together as well as separately, with ensembles such as Excelsior! A Comic Book Show, and Sheri performs with the Infinite Sundaes, the Second City Training Center’s Musical House Ensemble. Together they wrote and will perform in their first full-length musical: Choice – The Musical, which debuts on June 23rd.
Flanders! Director Anthony LeBlanc is the Associate Artistic Director of the Second City. Music Director Stuart Mott plays for ensembles at the Second City Training Center and has written orignal music for several sketch revues. Choreographer Cassandra Porter performed with River North Dance Company and is now with Julia Rhoads’ Lucky Plush Productions.
Flanders runs on Tuesday June 6th and 13th at 8:30 pm in Judy’s Beat Lounge at the Second City Training Center
