CHICAGO – In the summer of 2017, the greatest music festival ever known to mankind didn’t happen. Entrepreneur Billy McFarland and his partner Ja Rule promised an exclusive experience on a Bahamas island and got top models and influencers to lend their names – and social media accounts – to the promotion.
What better fodder for a show, by The Annoyance Theatre? The Annoyance presents: “ShitFYRE: The Musical”. Annoyance founder and Artistic Director Mick Napier and Annoyance Associate Director Duke Harbison co-direct this part-fictional, part-true (but who can tell the difference?) send-up of the catastrophe.
Matthew Pollack’s original music is delightfully playful, and the 8-person cast is made up with veteran Annoyance performers as well as some new to their stage. The cast includes: Rich Alfonso, Kimi Arquines, Ashely Leisten, Ryan Livingston, Evan Mulrooney, Andy Rowell, Amber Wallin and Jordan Wilson.
“ShitFYRE: The Musical” will open on the Mainstage at The Annoyance Theatre, Friday November 15th at 8:00 PM and continue to run on Fridays at 8:00PM through January 10th. Tickets are $24, $18 for students.
