March 7, 2018

CHICAGO – Stage 773, located at 1225 W. Belmont, is thrilled to announce the appointments of Jill Valentine as Executive Director and Jack Short as Managing Director of the theater. Both with long standing careers in the theater industry and at Stage 773, Valentine and Short bring years of knowledge and experience to their new positions.

Prior to her role as Executive Director, Valentine, a founding principal of Stage 773, served as Director of Theater Management and has been with the theater since 2004. In addition to her new position, Valentine functions as the Executive Producer of both the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival and the Chicago Women’s Funny Festival at Stage 773. Valentine is a Southside of Chicago native who has worked as an actor, writer, improviser, and sketch comedian all over the Windy City and has performed in a variety of sketch comedy groups including The Cupid Players, The Deltones, Feminine Gentleman, and Off Off Broadzway.

As Managing Director, Short assists all of Stage 773’s tenants with ticketing, marketing, and any other needs they may have. Short, a longtime employee of the theater, has worked in the Chicago non- profit theater business for over 20 years and has been at 1225 W Belmont since 1998. An Ohio native with a degree in music from the University of Toledo, Short works as a pit musician and cabaret pianist, in addition to other assorted musical endeavors, in his spare time.
