CHICAGO – Tackling all the history plays in a single devised piece, Shakespeare All-Stars proudly presents Shakespeare’s Revisionist Histories at Mary’s Attic, March 1-23.
In an age where political factions create rifts, immigration and human rights are in question, and fake news mixes with the real, what do we have to learn from Shakespeare’s Histories and the political factions of centuries ago? Shakespeare’s Revisionist Histories is a devised new work inspired by these ten plays and hundreds of years of political corruption. Step into a sanctuary space where, for the moment, we are free to sing, play, dance, speak, and read the bard’s verse.
Following successful productions of The Comedy of Errors, Macbeth, and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, the All-Stars are excited to present their first original work under the skillful direction of Chicago theatre veteran, Erik Wagner, featuring live music directed by Kyra Leigh (formerly Kyle Greer.)
Featuring Brice Baron, Amber Nicole Cartwright, Carlyle DePriest, Rebecca Joy Fletcher, Frank Gasparro, Mariah Ghant, Adrian Grigoras, Sean Haynes, Theresa Liebhart, Carly McQuay, and Andrew Seller
