Chicago – Puppeteer, Prop Comedian and Mandolin player Sam Locke returns to the Main Stage at the Annoyance Theatre with his optimistic take on the upcoming post apocalypse.
Featuring all original songs, “Wasteland: A Night of Mandolin, Happiness and Others” follows two post-apocalyptic marauders (Joe McDaniel and Chris Albano) as they stumble into the workshop of inventor Sam Neville (Sam Locke) in the middle of the wasteland of near future Chicago. Set in the ruins of The Annoyance Theatre, Sam’s masochistic Crash Test Dummy (Puppeteered by Law Tarello), and a mysterious woman warrior named Fiercia (Tahnee Lacey), help this motley crew fend off attacks by the cannibalistic Morlocks, and their leader Dennis (Puppeteered by Sam Locke).
Directed by Richard Scruggs, this light-sided look on post-apocalyptic sci-fi features puppetry, home made inventions and a three-piece “Newgrass” band throughout.
